digital speedometer can be a big pain in the ass to fix. its probably just some fancy option for an RS that lacks in performance.
Are you sure its an RS and not an LT??

didnt they make the berlinetta camaro around then, or was that 84 and 85?
NailZ69

so u think its a berlinetta? ...did they have the digi spedo?

i think some berlinettas had digital speedos but i dont think they made them then. If I were you I would have a look at it again and open the center console and see if theres an RPO code sheet on the underside of the lid or the side of the console. Write down those numbers and you can decode them to see exactly what the car came with.
If it is an LT and not an RS its a rare care and will be worth some money someday if you keep it around long enough.

speedos are not cheap to fix. I wouldn't do it by myself. requires experienced people to calibrate it correctly. I would expect to spend $275-375 to get it fixed. A simple way to find out though... test drive car, while on test drive take it to nearest dealer to have an estimate done (if you live in the city). I've done this several times. If not just call them... they'll give you a ballpark estimate.

the backspacing is fine, but for the rims, u gotta cut into the wells a little, real easy mod :bananasmi
