ok so I found this band on purvolume.com and personally I'm surprised they aren't signed yet. http://www.purevolume.com/drivingeast I know I'd buy the cd, anyways, just wanted to spread around some good music.

Once a band gets overplayed as the next "up and comers" I avoid them like the plague :(

Most mainstream music sucks :(

Most music sucks, period.

Find anything you like, find it anyway you can, and enjoy it for as long as you can stand it.

Apparently, according to Yahoo's internet radio, I like indie rock. From my understanding, most indie rock fans love bands that no one has heard of, and will not hesitate to hate those bands as soon as "everyone else" starts to hear about and to like them. Then the band's a "sellout" and they get "overplayed."

Well, I must be an atypical indie rock fan, in that I have no concept of "too much" of bands that I like. It's extremely rare that an artist or band moves from my "like" to "dislike" pile, except over the course of a very long time.

In short, I follow the tonioseven philosophy for music: Listen for yourself. Nobody else matters.

I've discovered if Toksin and slave hate it, it's got to be good. (White Stripes don't count in this case)

Hmm, sorry to say, but I find nothing more annoying than the typical punk rock whiny singing voice that seems so popular these days. Good lord, I sometimes think these new punk bands would be better with a throat cancer victim for a singer. Just not my thing.

not liking mainstream music is utterly retarded, seriously I used to be that way about 2 years ago then realised how dumb it is, I love bands before they get well known but as long as they don't turn into rockstars and go on power trips then I'm happy that they are making money and having success... I don't see why all the true fans sto likin a good band just cuz its on the radio or MTV, honestly I think your worse than the people that only listen to whats on the radio, cuz they let them pic what they listen to basically, but your letting them pic what you don't listen to, and your missing out on a lot of good music

oh and ac/dc makes me gag, can't stand them, the white stripes have some catchy guitar riffs but thats where their talent ends

the best up and coming band out there is STRATA, they have one of the craziest live shows ever. the are on tour rite now in the sno core concerts AC/DC is amazing come on who can go thru losing a great lead singer replace him and still have all that success, in my opinion the only other band to do this better was VAN HALEN good thing the got rid of roth and got hagar hagar is such a better singer, roth just talks

They sound just like 20 other bands I've heard lately... Not that they're particularly bad, but they sure aren't new or original by any stretch of the imagination...

Unwritten Law has been around for a few years now. They sort of made it at one point, and then you never here from them again.

I think Lostprophets is somewhat gaining popularity into the mainstream. We heard a couple songs from "The Fake Sound of Progress" a few years back, and now I'm hereing more of "Start Something". If the radio stations played more of a variety of Lostprophets they would probably be more mainstream, all I hear on the radio is "Last Train Home" and "Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja" which are good songs. Anyway, Lostprophets might stay underground, or go mainstream, either way I like them.

I don't think they have talent in the songwritting area, I mean thats just me but I don't see it... it could be just because I don't really conect myself with their songs though. thats the white stripes... as far as ac/dc goes I just don't like anything about them... make sense?

unwritten law are soo, ehhh, plain and bring nothing new. I classify them as pussy rock [no offence].

on the other hand, Grinspoon, brings in a nice blend of punk/hard rock. They have HELL good live shows/concerts, pity they havent travelled out of Australia to get some recognition.

as far as ac/dc goes I just don't like anything about them... make sense?

thats a bit Harsh!!, ac/dc are all about drinking and whiling out rock style, sure their lyrics arent no tool and there guitar work aint no Steve Vai, but dam there songs are party-like and amping.

and personally another up and coming band IMO, is Jedi Mind Tricks [hip-hop]. Man these guys are dope!!

Hey, me too!

I actually listen to 'some' mainstreem, only on the radio, and only because I want to hear something new to listen to. So far my quests for a decent band have failed miserably.

Soyo, sorry, but I couldn't listen to that band again, I listened to their stuff. IHMO It's old. The music alrighty, but it's the lyrics that really bring it down. More girlfriend whiny crap, sorry, don't dig that.

The best bands I've ever heard, do not get radio recognition here in Australia, only one or two band, and that's from JJJ! They rock!

I've had many, many gigs with these emo punk bands, trust me, they're all the same.

props to Eversio on the Moneen comment.

they're from a city about an hour from me, and one of the teachers at my high school is cousins with the bass guitarist.

good sound.

Sorry there's nothing exciting about that band. Sound just like every other pop rock band out there.

Words can't even begin to describe how pissed off I am that Alkaline Trio is on the Warp Tour with all those shit bands.:disappoin Their next album I bet will suck ass and sound very mainstream.

not every band on the tour is shit this year. Taking Back Sunday will be there, and Coheed & Cambria, as well as many other noteworthies.

i agree that alot of shit bands will be there (Pimple Plan, Good Charlotte, Lillix, etc.), but i just stay away from that stage when they're playing.

or, i could do what i did last year. i hit the lead singer of Simple Plan in the head with a water-bottle mid-song...i think this year calls for a redux.
