Not idleing back down:(

Ok the problem I'm having is that sometimes after I let off the gas my car wont go back to idle. I think the idle kicker solenoid might be the problem but I'm not sure. The solenoid plunger will follow the throttle arm out fine its just when you let off the gas the plunger seems to hold the throttle arm from going back in. Any ideas or suggestions? Because this is driving me crazy:mad:

Can you push it back in place by hand? With or without great difficulty? May just be time to replace it.

Yeah it pushes back in not too hard but I didnt know if there whould be something else wrong and thats why its not going back in the way it should be.

I had this problem as well. Your pic is of the AC saddle bracket with curb idel assembly. This only keeps the car from stalling when the AC kicks on. It could be over adjusted but will not do much for you.

I would check your Throttle position sensor. The TPS is located on the righ side of the Throttle body, directly connected to the throttle shaft.

I replaced mine and it seems to fix the problem but it still seems to idel down slow. Might just be the nature of the primitive TB's.

It must have at one time or it would not have the curb idle.

It didnt. I've had it for 5 years and the original owner was my grandparents.

Yeah it pushes back in not too hard but I didnt know if there whould be something else wrong and thats why its not going back in the way it should be.

Nope. And it only does it sometimes.....but recently its been doing it more.
When it does it if you tap the gas peddle it will generally idle back to where its supposed too.
