how to remove the ebrake handle?

i just bought a new handle for my 99civic ex ebrake and a boot well i cut the boot off since i dont know how to remove the stock ebrake handle i tried turning it like unscrew it but thats not working or unless its on there tight. So i'm askin how do u remove it?

apparently, some of those e-brake handles can be a real bear to get off

i heard you just have to tug(like really fuckin hard). i haven't done it personally.. thats just what i've heard from a lot of people

cut it off. unless u got one of those e-brake handles that just slip on. otherwise u cut the old one off. do a search theres a couple how to

I had one that I was gonna put on my car, but never did because that damp metal lip under the handle (where the stock handle is) didn't allow enough clearance to put the new handle on. :rolleyes: I cut my stock handle, a clean cut down the top middle, and I found out it can just be SLID off if you use a good pair of Vise-Grip type locking pliers. That's it, no cutting need apply.

^^ let us know how it goes. sometime in the future i'll be looking to replace my ebrake handle and boot.
