2001 Malibu AC/Heater

Hi everyone, I have a 2001 Malibu and there is a problem with the AC and heat. The a/c and heat will only work if the controls are on level 3 or higher. So I either freeze to death beacause it's too cold or I sweat to death because it's too hot. They will not work if the control is on level one or two. Any ideas? Thanks for the help!

my 2001 had the same problem before...there's a blown resistor in the controls. you have to take your car in to have the resistor replaced.
