In www.subaru.co.jp I saw that the legacy comes with many types of engines one of them is EJ20
DOHC N/A and it has 195Hp @ 7100 rpm :)
since I don't like turbo I figered that this engine is the best for N/A project for the impreza it is much more powerful than the EJ25 SOHC which makes 165hp @ 5600 rpm and even more lighter
with just little tune up it will make the same power as the WRX.
:disappoin I don't know how much it cost for the engine & even I don't know where they sell it ?? can anyone tell ??

You can get more power out the EJ25 though.

If you find a company that specializes in importing JDM engines, you'll probably need to contact them and ask about it since it's not comon. Buy freakray is right, is you're wanting to stay N/A you're much better off with the 2.5. Not only will you not have to spend the money and effort finding that engine, importing it and installing it, with the money saved you can probably raise the EJ25's displacement. 2.7 liters sound good? :ylsuper:

anyone remember a guy on NASIOC waaaay back when it was I-club who spent 10k on an NA build. I think his best time was something like 14.1. IMO it's just not worth it man, it's a 4 cylinder, not a v8, just go with forced induction. You'll save time, money and be faster with less work. That's my .02

By N/A I assume you're gonna be using nitrous too, cuz it's the only way you're gonna get comparable numbers to forced induction. dcoty on NASIOC has one of the most extensive N/A builds I've seen right now.

guys
turbo engines cost too much for the insurance & maintenance ><
since its my only car for at least the next 5 years I want something can be used everyday so the best choice for me is N/A I guess
whats wrong with the EJ20 if it is lighter and gives more power than the EJ25
It's even has higher mileage am I right ??

The EJ20 doesn't give more power than the EJ25, you've obviously not been paying attention.

It's all about tuning the engine, the EJ25 can be tuned to give more power than the EJ20, the EJ20 you're looking at has been tuned to give that power, it's not because the baseline engine has that much more power.

Not only that, but as soon as you have the EJ20 tuned to give you more power than your EJ25, your mileage on the EJ20 will be worse than your EJ25's.

20 bucks says an EJ25 with a higher RPM cam, a basic tune and revved to 7100 rpm will make as much power as that EJ20, but with a better powerband.

Hmm, that sounds like a good idea
