HID conversion question

Do the HID bulbs in these conversion kits run hotter than the stock halogen bulbs? And if so, what are the chances of the bulbs heating up the plastic housing and possibly causing it to change color (yellow) over time?
I'm looking around for a good kit, but if my housing can't take the heat from these bulbs, forget it. I'd rather leave the halogens in.

HID conversion kits is alot cooler then halogen. So there is absolutely no way you'll damage your headlamp housing.
Cooler ------------------------------------------------------>hotter
HID 35 watts-------stock halogen 55 watts---->xenon halogen/blue bulbs 55 watts

HID is 35 watts (much cooler as stated above)
I've had a few pairs of xenon bulbs whch were 80 or 90 watts. I just installed 90 watt Krypton Purple bulbs (installed one to compare to the blue xenon's when the sun sets tonight) and hve had NO problems at all. This is over a period of 3 years.
I'm going to eventually get projectors and the real deal :flash:
