uneven tire wear...

I went to Discount Tire today to shop for new tires. I had told them that I was going to do an alignment right before getting the new tires. The guy told my to not worry about the alignment, because the wear pattern on my front tires is due to the suspension design of the vehicle, and that he has seen other tahoes/suburbans/yukons with the exact same wear pattern. It is wearing most on the passenger side front, on the inside, with "cupping" type marks.... is this really normal?

Have your torsion bars been adjusted or are they loose?
