Anyone know of a good extended service contract?

I just checked with Sam's Club, and they offer a 2-year up to 100k warranty for a whopping $2,100. I have 80k, so they may have been offering more like 20k miles and 2 years.

Anyway, given the purchase price of $8k a year ago (@60k miles), not likely to spend that $ for an extended warranty.

Any thoughts?

Thanks again.

Be VERY carefull and make sure to read all the fime print. I was going to buy a 2 year 20k mile warranty and did a lot of looking and talking finally said OK to Continental warranty cost 1300.00 was going to cover all electrical and mechanical including switches sounded very good over the phone. Got the written contract and it didnt cover half of the things they had told me over the phone and the most they would pay on the contract is what the car booked at period. Didnt buy it bought the factory service manual instead.
Good Luck and Read Careful

That's steep. Even with replacing a bunch of stuff right around 100k when I bought my 95, I don't think I spent that much. $1600 easy for A/C repairs, an EGR valve, and rebuilding the seals on the water pump, but I'd rather just fix it as it breaks and maybe come out ahead.

Glad I found this thread, because I just purchased an extended warranty from continental for my 96 Aurora with 68,000 miles. I have 30 days to cancel if I find it is not what I thought it would be, I paid $1700 for 4 years/48,000 miles. I would like to get your opinion on this???? They did tell me it covered all kinds of things, if they get too specific I might just cancel it. They even told me it would cover the main seal leak (GM won't even cover that unless you have existing warranty).

I have found that continental will tell you all sorts of things are covered over the phone to get you to buy their product then when you get the actual contract very few things are covered and major limitations to cost. Also you want to check with whom ever you are going to have do any work for you and see if they will accept the warranty and payment arrangements no one in my area would take it all wanted prepayment up front when work was done. If you just bought this you should get the printed contract in the next week READ IT VERY CAREFULLY small print and all.
Good Luck

sorry i just got signed up and running here but if your still looking for a good warranty company, I have an extended warranty on my 97 aurora with Wynns. I got it through the dealer were i bought the car and it seems to be a decent warranty. 3 years 36k miles $1800..it seemed a little high to me but it has paid for itself already. they cover a lot (even though the first thing that went wrong with the car - multifuntional switch, was not covered) $600 that the dealership paid $400 of after putting up a fight.
