as explained prolly a lot better than me by BabyBluemx3... the compression ratios on an MX3 are very high. (10.5) and this makes it very hard to have a turbo setup that will not blow your engine.

It is very possible, but it will take planning, time, and $$$. If I were you, I wouldn't even think about it. You need to read a lot about turbo set ups, engines, and everything else too... Try to get Maximum Boost by Corky Bell... it is a great book explaining the concepts of turbos and gives you a good idea on how they work.

To answer your question simply, your friend is full of s**t... you can turbo an MX3... but it aint easy to keep it running well without detonation occurring.

another option is replacing the J-spec KLZE's internals with the US-spec KLZE internals, this will drop the compression back to 9.2:1, it would be easer to turbo that way...

would it lose power by changing the internals to us-spec??if so by how much?and how much psi could the engine handle at that compression??

yes you'll lose power...the higher the compression ratio the higher the HP...if you were to put klde internals in the ze might as well buy a klde for much less...any car can be turboed..U just need to know how to do it right...I explained this in another post and if you want some better answers look in the past posts

thanx but i called one of the dealers about the klze and they said that it is only for the mx-6 not for the mx-3 can someone clear up this misconception....

that's because mazda don't do swaps...a klze is a 2.5L and mx6 came with 2.5L that's why he said it's for mx6....do you think that honda dealers will tell civic drivers that they came dump a h22 in their civic hb...don't think so...don't beleive everything mazda dealer says...I bet they never saw a klze in their life
