So what do you guys think? This is only a sketch (not the real thing), but do you think it could reflect a bit of insight of whats to come?

I'm honestly hoping they don't do the notchback body this time around. I don't car how much lighter it made the Vette, all it did for the styling of the car is accentuate its huge ass.

And it's doing that again in that sketch.

I like big butts and I will not lie

I could see them putting on bigger (lighter) wheels with better tires for enhanced grip and handling. Also maybe a carbon fiber hood with a carbon fiber hardtop. Lowering ride height has gotta be a definate priority in there list of things to do. Maybe they will also shed weight with the exhaust as they did with the C5 Z06. I'm hoping for a C6 Z06 (or whatnot) to be in the 475-500 hp range @ 3000lbs. If this happens, dodge will have their handsful with it (as well as every other competitor).

Also, I honestly wouldn't be suprised to see this Vette close to the 60k mark if anything.

Most of anything, I would love to see GM produce a mid-engine layout (the setup of a true sports car).

Umm, remember Fiero?

Let's not go down that road again. Although the Fiero was surprisingly competent. It's not near the dog folks make it out to be, but it's numbers didn't quite match up to the smaller engined (though admittedly much lighter) AW11 MR2.

i wish that they would distinguish the z06 more from the base as in body styling. with the c5, the only noticeably thing was the little intake thingy in front of the back wheel.

and the z06's back came down at a sharper angle, to reduce the size of the glass, making it lighter... it basically looks like a convertible with a hard top over it

Yes, that's true. They're called "hardtop" Corvettes. You've got the Vette hardtop, convertible, and coupe. The coupe was the sailback glass roof line while the hardtop was the cutoff roofline. Z06's were built on the Vette hardtop body.

Which leads us back around to the point that a little brake duct in front of the rear wheel well is not enough to distinguish the top model Vette from the base model.

That thing is dead sexy! I love it, I can't wait to cruise the dealerships and look at yet another vette i can't afford, ever!
