There is one of those big car washing places near me, you know the kind where you can actually sit in the car as it's going through the wash. Anyway, i try to get my car washed at least once every week and a half. Thats about $15 each time for the Teflon Wash as the place calls it. Anyway, when your going through, this soapy rainbow lather gets shot all over the car/which i was told is the paint protectant. Then the usual water, air etc etc. Now after this wash, i always notice that when using my windshield wipers, there is an invisible film on the glass, which makes the wipers jump alittle. To the touch, this film IS IN FACT WAX. Does this wax help the paint in any way, say against sun fade/bacteria and road gunk. Or am i paying the extra $7 just for crap.

PS.. I know i am a lazy sob and should be washing/waxing my own car, but its just so damn easy to go to the car wash.

We all get lazy sometimes.I believe that film is sealer wax,or the teflon they talk about. It sort of does compliment the wax and wash a little bit.And yes,it does protect against the sun.Dont think its worth 7 bux though. But I never trusted those places.Too many scracthes.Which is why I go to the 100% hand car wash SOMETIMES.
