Personally I don't like the styling. The incorporation of the 2 back doors plus the extra wheelbase has ruined the analogies of the very agressive and sporty looking 3-door car. Also the 3-door car is certainly lighter (shorter wb) hence expect a sub-7 sec time for the 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) of the 200 HP version.

i like the new A3, both versions. the three door is more sporty and fun, but the five door can have full grown people in it. i want to know when it will arrive in the U.S. and how much both versions will cost. since it is based on the VW Golf, which is pretty popular, people who want a premium sport hatch dont have only the Mini to choose from. it will have more competition in Europe, though. since BMW isn't planning to bring the 1 Series to America, it will compete with the A3 and BMW's own Mini. Mercedes had one (sort of): the C-230 Kompressor. it isnt that popular. if only Acura or Lexus had one...

I know Mercedes is bringing the B-Class to the US in a year or two. But I am kind of surprised about BMW keeping the 1-Series out of this market. If and when they do, I think that the Audi A3 will still be on top. Since BMW and Mercedes are crap. Cool, but crap.
