Someone may have ran it with little or no oil... bad stuff! You bought it like that? Probably gotta get a new motor, buddy....

naw. it was given to me.. said if i could fix it i could have it.. I was told that It had oil.. the actual owner thinks it might be a timing problem.. because it just skipped and then cut off.. didn't run hot.. or do anything out of the ordinary besides stopping hah. I dont' think he's actually had anyone real take a look at the car tho

if the engine just locked up, it is most likely something internally broke. either you will have to do a complete rebuild or buy another engine.

I've only ever heard of that happening when someone runs them WAAAAAAAAAAY too hard, then just shuts them off right away when they get home. They need time to cool a little...for the turbos (if it has them) and the engine.
What I'd do if I were you is pull the engine (or just ship the whole car) and ship it to sgp racing in Texas. Have them do a complete rebuild on it with all new, up-graded parts. You didn't pay anything for the car, so you're basically just paying whatever the cost is for the rebuild service you choose....kinda like getting a like new, race-prepped VG30DE(TT) for as little as $2,000.
Here's (http://store.yahoo.com/sgpracing-store/9096300zxttna.html) a link to their engine building services page. Check it out. They vary from the Basic short block:
$2700 + $750 core
Block oil passages cleaned
Block redecked
Block water passage bored out for more water to back cylinders
Block Bored and Honed using a Torque Plate
Crank balanced and welded on center weight
Shot peened stock rods
ARP Rod Studs
New bearing and rings
Ceramic Coated Weisco Pistons .040 over
to the Upgraded Long Block #2: $6000 + $1500 Core
Block oil passages cleaned
Block redecked
Block water passage bored out for more water to back cylinders
Block Bored and Honed using a Torque Plate
Crank balanced and welded on center weight
Crank journals polished
New bearing and rings
*Eagle Rods
ARP Rod Bolts
Ceramic Coated Weisco Pistons .040 over
*ARP Main Studs
*ARP Head Studs
Heads oil passages cleaned
Heads redecked
Ported exhaust and intake runners
3 angle valve job
New Valve stem seals
New Nissan Head gaskets
New Nissan Oil Pump
New Nissan Timing Belt
New Nissan Timing Belt Tensioner
*New Nissan Lifters
I think ~7 grand for a race prepped, essencially new, damn near bullit proof engine isn't too damn bad. Wouldn't you like one of these put in the car you got for FREE....

Well seeing that picture just made my heart drop. Very exciting!! Wish i had gotten mine for free to do that.
But anyway, as they said, I would suggest the same. You got it for free, Spend the cash on the new engine and you will prob be saving rather than if you bought one from someone.
Good luck

Oh yea...thanks for the props, too. I got the current pic off Cardomain...hope the dude doesn't mind that I bum it. He really does have a beautiful 86T. That is what I wanted to make the multi-colored one into. Oh well. Besides...I'm hosting the pic off my own photo site, so I doubt anyone will mind.

what's with the factory alarm. I didn't even know that the car had one until the lights started flashing one day when I got out of it. Now she won't start. can anyone help me with this?

dude...sounds like the timing belt snapped. this could mean replacement valves, a full rebuild, or jut replacing the belt with alot of luck.
you would have to tear it down to figure it out.
good luck.
