Thats weird, my cap came with a special kind of screw that was harder to strip. Looked like a + except it extends over the edge so you can use a flathead for both sides.

Are you planning to change the cap anyways? you might have to saw off the head of the screw (which gets the cap off) and get some plyers to twist off the rest of the screw.

But that is only a last resort IMO and I'm sure someone has an even better idea.

it should also have a 1/4 or 5/16 head on it so you can get it off with a socket. might be metric too

its kinda tiny im gonna try needle nose plyers and if that doesn't work im gonna get some small vise grips because its the one right by the windshield (its even harder for me b/c i have a big triangle sway bar)

it should be either 1/4in or 7mm i think, perhaps even smaller, but there should be a hex head on it, i would do that before resorting to pliers and such, those are more of a headache than a ratchet with the correct socket, not less of one. and worse case senario, pull the plug wires off, take off the distributor clamp bolt, pull out the distributor and get better access to those screws that way.

Worse comes to worse and it won't come off ,Sear's sell's a screw and bolt out for stripped screws you just put the bit in the drill and slowly drill in reverse until it backs out , I have used on my center pin bolt in my diffential , Valve cover gaskets and the Targa top of my Corvette and all 3 times it did the trick

you could try to cut a slot in the screw head with a dremel or something so you can use a flat head screwdriver
