Remote Key programming

The guy was correct, I found the connector in the truck that he spoke of to program the key remote, you ground that connector and all the locks and trunk locks cycle and it synchronizes with the remote. The only problem is the new remote became programmed and the old one became deactivated when I grounded the plug. Now I have 2 remotes and only one works. Does anyone know how to get the 2nd remote to program? Thanks!

According to the service manual, with the keyless system wire grounded, you touch any button on the remote and the system will cycle. Without disconnecting the wire, touch any button on the second remote and you'll hear the cycle again. You can only do two. Disconnect the ground wire at that point and you're done.

I have a 96 Olds Cutlass Supreme, and I was wondering if you could tell me how to program the remote. I've looked on both sides of the trunk and there are several different wires. I can't tell which one to ground. Please help.....

On the 94 Cutlass, there's a black female connector by the antenna, right side in the trunck, it looks like something you'd plug in to. It's just hanging there behind the fabric liner. Take a jump wire and ground that connection and you'll hear the locks cycle. At that point your first remote should be programmed, leave the wire grounded and press any button on your second remote and it should also become programmed. That process worked for me on the 94. The book says that only 2 remotes can be programmed at one time so any others would probably become de-programmed. Hope it works.

Does the '96 have the same 3-button remote as the earlier models? If it does, the above procedure will work. I don't think the newer remotes program the same way.
