hey guys, just throwing out an inquiry, i have heard a few guys saying they would like to see a major thread stuck at the top of the camaro forum about FAQ's such as how do i make my six cylender camaro fast, what are cheap ways to go fast, is my 305 more than a boat anchor etc. etc. is there a wide desire for this to clear up the forum from reposting of old threads? If so, please add to the bottom of your posts ideas of such topics that should be included, and ill see about taking a sunday or something and putting a list of FAQ's and answers together and making it a permanent thread for newbs to referr to.

i think there should be something of the sort. one thing i would like to see is something about not trying to awake the dead. its kinda annoying when someone posts in a dead thread. it seems like many newbs do that, probably only cuz they dont know to look at dates or something.
P.S. now everyone should be able to tell me and that other 68 chevelle apart, i hope. specail thanks to 96Civ for the help.

I dont think itd be needed so much if you pushed a little more to get newbs to use the search function..
There are a Lot of questions that are repeatidly asked...There are 4 generations of Camaro material you'd havto sift through.. It would be one hell of a long thread ( and to type it all on a Sunday yet..lol) Although it would be a good idea, and hopefully would clear up a lot of re posts...
But for suggestions.. Ide say the biggest would be engine swaps, and auto to manual swaps
umm.. 305 and V6 performance are very often talked about
stock hp and tq ratings? or even stock 1/4, 0-60 times
maximum tire/wheel sizes?
building a 700R4?
auto vs manual?

my personal opinion is that there is so much information about camaros and such a broad spectrum in which questions can be asked that a faq would seem pretty much pointless to me. the few questions it would answer seems to not be enough compared to the time it would take you to make it. i think it is better to answer each question individually, same question we read 5 min earlier or not. remember we are in the camaro forum, we don't flame people for asking stuff, we just help them.

when the hell did IROC become a mod!?!?!
ps- i think the idea could be good and would help to reduce the amount of reposts down...

someone must have been gone for a while. (a week and a half or so)
you missed alot man. he was arguing with the other mods and everything, quite enteretainging aside from the seriousness of it.

I think maybe you should make a FAQ for each generation and in them have some of the commonly asked questions with the answers.

I would tend to agree with drvngstorm05, even though sometimes it may seem redundant answering the same questions. Thats what sets this forum apart from all the others, we answer the questions without giving them the ole "read the FAQ'S answer". You dont build or make friendships with that answer. Thats why the Camaro forum is the best guys........ :smokin:

well, that is a very good point about the camaro forum way of doing things, i didnt plan on doing a whole thread answering EVERY question that is asked lol, for instance the best way to build a small block, which always leads to good fun and interesting conversations. however some popular questions that are pretty cut and dry, auto to manual swaps for instance, or options for swapping a six for an eight cylender, things that are really indifferent to opinion, obviously any questions that would cause healthy discussion would be left out of the FAQ's, such as, which is the best generation of camao, im sure that one would have plenty of fun discission ;)
