does anyone know if they make any subwoofers that fit in the del sol? i dont want to put any in the trunk cause it is small enough already and subs dont sound as good back there. am i going to have to try to do a custom job or what? let me know :bloated:

I would try to make a custom box for the subs between the seats and the back wall. I think you could probably fit one 12" behind each seat(2 total) and i think it would sound pretty good inside. :D

what i wanted to do was take out the two cubby holes and center console that ran to the back of the cabin and make a box that stretched all the way across behind the seats. i dont know if that makes any sense, but i think it would be pretty bad ass. you might be able to take out one side and put a sub there, and leave the other to put stuff in. this seemed like a lot of work to me, so i just made a box that is in my trunk that holds my amps as well. still sounds good and looks awesome. good luck with what you decide and put up some pics.

There are about two ways to do this right. One of the ways is what b16a3sol mentioned...the box behind the seats. To get enough airspace, you need to remove the storage compartments. This is how the JL Audio Stealthbox fits. Any stereo shop can build you a box that will fit like that. Another good way to do this is to build a false floor in the trunk. The subs will sit down in it, firing upward. Then, you will need to build a port through the back wall of the car. This will let you hear more of the sub from inside the car.

I prefer the behind the seat method myself.

i think i know what im going to do. i found some subs at bestbuy the other day that i think will fit in the storage compartments. they are the ones for hiding in a truck. i think that i will build a little create in the boxs and then when ever i want to hear the subs open up the boxs so that they can get air they need. Also then the subs are locked up and i dont have to worrie about them By doin it this way if i ever had to sell my sol then there could still be the storage compartments. What do you guys think??

i dont reallt get it. are you planning on cutting out the bottom of the bins and placing subs inside there? this would make it look stock from the outside, but how would it retain the use of the bins after you sell the car? if you are not planning on cutting the bottoms out, then those are going to be some very small subwoofers. anything that can fit in the bins is not going to provide sound that would beat a real sub in the trunk.
