i need an alarm, i wanna spend around 400$. I want the 400$ to include a tilt sensor, and it has to be a DEI alarm. i dont need a remote starter or keyless entry.

p.s.

i know these alarms have shock sensors and etc. but does that cover the windows? the reason i ask is because a salesman at Tweeter suggested i get an audio sensor. but i dont think i need one if i have a shock sensor. ( I hope not )

Go with a Viper 791XV. I would say that this is the best unit out right now. http://www.directed.com/security/viper/viper_responder.asp. It will cost more than $400.00 though. And that wont include the tilt sensor. If you are installing it yourself it will be cheaper. The Autopage RSLCD750 is a good unit also. I have it and think its a great unit. The RSlcd850 has more features http://www.autopageusa.com/Products/2Way/rs850.htm

It will be close to $500.00. We sell them for $479.99 installed without the sensor. I would tell them that you will take it if they keep it under $500. There is nothing to installing that sensor so dont let them try to rip you off

i have nothing you give me nothing. SOrry umm well this is going two way which i'm guessing you are wanting. Try the valet 554r or the python twin you will get a two way remote with a back up one way remote. YOu also get r/s we sell it for 349.99 installed it comes with a shock sensor and a tilt sensor installed is 75. You would be a little over your projection but you would get what you want. But if one way is ok try a clifford iq7000/8000 one of them come with a tilt. No remote start but properly installed this alarm will never give you problems an even cheaper route would be a viper 350 with tilt clifford installed prolly goes 450 installed but the 350wtilt prolly $350 installed at the most...

Working in car audio has it's advantages, but it also shows you how much money ppl have to waste."

how much would your shop charge for a 690XV, tilt sensor, and a 520T backup battery?

I would go for Viper's twin and opt for the new 671xp model. It has 2-way features but uses LED lights so the unit is much more sturdy than the LCD screens.

Yes, a theif can break into your car without triggering a shock sensor or even a glass break sensor. You use a very common kid's toy but I won't say what it is. It will shatter the window without making a single sound.

I would rather go with a prox. sensor. These can be set to work extremely well. I'd also spring for a backup battery for the brain and siren too. Too bad you are not close to me cuz all of this would be way below the $500 mark installed!
