Is a 96 f22b1 the same as the 98 ex vtec engine.

no there not the same at all .. the f22b1 is out of a 96 accord ex it is a
2.2 liter engine while the civic ex is a d16y8 ... an 1.6 liter engine

I think he meant a 98 accord ex? If you are comparing the old accord engine to the 98 then no they are not the same but not much different either.Its about 5 hp difference.
