I have been having a reoccurring problem with my '91 4-Runner (3.0 L, V6, Manual). Normally, it starts great, but the following has occurred to me 3 times in the past year: I will be driving on a hot day for over 2 hours straight, stop for a minute and turn off the car, try to re-start and all I hear is a slight click sound, no turnover, nothing. All accessories will still work. Car will re-start normally after about 1.5 hours of cool-down, no jump-start needed. Not sure where to pinpoint the problem. Where should I look and what do I need to test?

Next time it does this, give the starter a whack or two and see if this solves the problem. If it does, it's your starter contacts. Normally, the starter contacts act up when the engine is cold, but this is the easiest and cheapest solution.
