I'd doubt that he could get a new car. I mean his rep is in the 86 so I don't think he would change it. It would be like Ryosuke changing from his white FC3S to a yellow S2K, it would just mess with it

He does get a new car in the series. Bunta purchases a Subaru Impreza WRX coupe for Takumi to drive. Happens during the Project D tangent.

But, if Takumi were to step away from that car too, I want to see him in something that offers up radically high levels of grip but has knife-edged handling. Something like a Lotus Exige or a Porsche 930.

Why not just get a Lotus Super 7? Open cockpit, open wheeled, and he'll get to wear those Red Barron goggles and white scarf... it'll be like driving a F1 car from the 50s in Monte Carlo!

Umm Layla, you know its entirely possible that he wasn't using Queer as a derogatory term for Homosexuals? At one time it did mean odd or different. And from the context I don't think he was using it to put down homosexuals, or he would have written "you are -a- queer" saying "you are queer" is almost the same as saying your wierd. i think tak is gonna kep tat 86. it's small, FAST, and light. even REAL pro drivers (like ken gushi) prefers an 86 for drifting.

Oh, and I couldn't really think of a spiritual successor to the AE86.

However, I think it would be cool to see Takumi driving a BMW M Coupe. It's an FR hatch like the Hachi, but probably has more power than Takumi would need. It also likes to step out of line occasionally, so it would be a nice challenge for him to master it.

I seriously doubt Takumi will get a new car. As said before, part of his rep is based off of the 86. After dropping the modified TRD AE-101 engine in it, why would Bunta get a new car. Its a waste of money and time. I think so anyway.

Actually, I know Bunta gets a WRX. But I dont think its for Takumi. Last time I heard Bunta gets it to test Takumis skills and Bunta ends up beating the living -bleeps- outta him.

Takumis next car would be a large tofu delivery truck. Because everyone will be in high demand for really good tofu with a drifting gimmick in hopes of seeing the AE86
