2000 Elantra Overheating.......

Yesterday, after driving around town for an hour or two, I got home and noticed coolant on the ground coming from my car. I poped the hood open and noticed the coolant boiling in the plastic resevoir. But my cars needle never got past the center of the temp gauge. Is the car technically overheating or not? I'm no mechanic...I used to be an electrician. I checked the electrical system that controls the cooling system and everythings seems o.k. Does anyone have any suggestions or insight on what the problem may be? There are no visible leaks, The AC fan and the radiator fan seem to be working properly. Although, the AC fans seems to spin faster than the radiator fan (could this be the problem?). I've felt for temp changes in the radiator and its thourghly warm. I've also checked the top and bottom hoses to the radiator and they too seem fine.

if your covered take it in to the dealer
ive seen the temp sensor lie to the ecu this allows the engine to overheat the gauge looks noemal and the fan does not come on

Thanks for the help. I had a bad thermostat. I did some troubleshooting and replaced that and the radiator cap.
