I talked elsewhere on this forum about driving in #07R. As I mentioned, it was in orange and silver, as mimicked in one of my 1/12th versions. However, the car that appeared in Scotland didn't have a GTR logo on it. I saw this on the web, and wondered, could this be #07R BEFORE she arrived in Scotland?

Hi Murraydeschot,
Do you have any more info on the F1 in Scotland, if it's in Aberdeen, I may be able to provide more info. There are a few car nuts up there, including one who owned 5 XJ220's at one time!!

ahhh...
ok.
i was just wondering cos isn't there a big cycling thing going on sometime soon in stirling?
(or has it passed?)
i remember having extreme difficulty in finding somewhere to stay for that weekend on my last trip around scotland cos of the cyclists.

and i never made it into fort william.
the only place where i could find a room was on the other side of the loch and i couldn't be bothered to walk all the way around.....

hmm, reminds me to start making plans for this summer's travels...

No, I really don't believe it could be. This photo is one of the first F1 GTR photos that was released. I even have an old poster of that shot somewhere I believe, which was printed shortly after the F1 GTR was unveiled. I don't believe that #07R would have been painted that way until it had completed it's time with AMG.

Also, in this photo from the unveiling party for the F1 GTR, you can clearly see those same bonnet vents.

Almost every single '95-spec F1 GTR would have worn these at some point, with #07R being the only one that still has them to my knowledge.

if they want to talk about things not related to the thread title, get to another topic. It helps keep things in order

:iagree: with Mini Magic and hurstg01 about staying on topic. I come to this forum to read about the F1. I don't need to wade through a bunch of meaningless posts about other subjects. It just wastes my time. :2cents:

wasting your time? do you know why wasting your time? Because you read it yourself with own eyes. if it were not helful for you, you only have to skip it over, it's very simple way. Don't say that stupid saying.

you are not suggesting but close to ordering. i saw what you said like that occasionally. Every forum, there could be some talk out of direction which stick to do while talking each other by intention or mistake. At that moment, generally anyone doesn't say so like you arrogantly. Please have more broader mind.

zx4000, if you have a problem with somebody, please deal with it via PM.
Mini magic has every right to ask people to keep threads on topic, your debating the matter has actually dragged the thread even further off-topic.

I think it's terminal.... ;) No big deal, the original quesiton should be mute now anyway.

A better question is why they stuck a turbocharged V6 in it driving only the rear wheels instead of the XJ220 concept's V12 with AWD drivetrain. Understand that Jaguar didn't really have the cash to do it right.

Besides, 6 speed manual transmissions were just starting to become the norm at the time when the XJ220 was being developed. They may have gone with the 5 speed for packaging reasons or simply to keep costs down.

If your spacebar is broken, just hold the "Alt" key and then using your keypad enter '0160'.
