Heres the thing: my a/c at first when i bought the car was as cold as anything. i lvoed it but since i didnt use during the winter season now it doesnt seem cold. im pretty sure its just the freon has ran out. im guessing that i would have 2 options:
1. take it to the dealership and have them fix it.
or...
2. buy one of those freon recharge kits at any auto store.
which is better? i just want to what is best. any suggestions?

The mechanics are just going to do the same thing you could do with the charge kit...except you could do it for less money.

But a repair shop (NOT THE DEALERSHIP!!!!) will also check for leaks, which is likely your root problem.

What kind of refrigerant is in your system? (what year is your car?) I am looking at options right now for my 1990, an old R-12 system. R-134a recharge is relatively easy.
