what do you think??

well now that i had a scare with having water in my engine i decided not to spend my money on things for off roading cuz i need the truck more on the road. so i now have some extra money that needs spending. so i wanna try to get the truck (350) up to 330-350 hp. im concidering a new intake, new throttle body and spacer, headers and whole new exhuast, under drive pulleys, and possibly a performance chip. lemme know what u think.

That will defintely give an increase, but I dunno if it would give you the horsepower you are seeking. I would look into a supercharger, they might be pricey, but it'll definately give you what your looking for in performance.

i had concidered a supercharger but i have heard from people who owned them and said they were responsible for a blown engine. how much truth could there be to that?

I too have considered putting a supercharger on my truck (pictured below). I have gotten mixed advice about it also. Anyone else got any advice/comments???? :smokin:

Blown engine from a huffer,,, no! But many blown head intake gaskets from to much boost!!

They are bolt on and work well,keep an eye on the boost and manifold pressure and oil temp and all should go well.
If,things start to heat up pull your right foot out of the go pedal.

I'm assuming you have the old 5.7 liter motor with that (350) notation. There is much to be desired with that motor. Start off with the basics, a k&n air filter intake system, dual exaust with nice mufflers. Then you can dig a little deeper by getting new headers and a msd ignition, two things that the factory does to boost their horsepower on the smaller, newer 5.3 liter engines. I don't think I've ever seen a chip do all that much for a non-turbo gas motor. Aftermarket superchargers are noisy. If you don't like a winding up noise, you should try some engine work instead. Even the twin corkscrew kennie bell and whipple superchargers are noisy. Some companies are playing around with fitting garrett turbos in chevy pickups. I don't like their designs, but those trucks sound awesome (I love the sound of a turbo winding up and then dumping on a shift point, it's like a desiel truck sound with out the clankidy clankidy). A turbo or super will set you back an easy 3 grand. K&N intake - $200, Dual Flowmaster exaust without tips $300, headers $500, msd with new cables $500. Those fours should jump your horse power up to 320 or around to it. A super or a turbo is an easy 100 hp gain, using only a 7 lb boost or so. My buddy has his turbo up to 13 lbs and he still hasn't blown an engine (40,000 miles so far)

Here are some more exact details of what all I wanna do. Cold air intake, new MAFS, high flow throttle body, throttle body spacer, under drive pulleys, electric fan, ignition system, headers, high flow converters, and a micro tuner.
