a 302HO from an 85 Mustang ha? Well if it is a real HO, than it wasnt original you know. The 5.0L HO's are fuel injected and didnt exist until 86 with the first EFI mustang. Yeah if its what you say it is, which is confusing me a bit here, it will bolt right in. Did you blow your original motor or what? Cause the 86 - 95 Mustang 5.0L were all HO's stock.

Sorry, for some reason I thought you said GT. Anyways, I'm not sure if the 3.8L mounts are the same. I thought I heard somewhere that they are different than the 5.0 and 2.3 mounts, but I could be wrong. If they are the same, you should probably do the other basic V8 upgrades as well while doing the swap. I.E. brakes, suspension, etc. But yes if they are the same mounts the V8 will bolt right in(w/ harness, ECU, and a heavier duty tranny of course). What trans do you have?

Hmmm. Well I looked into it and sure enough your right. I thought the HO's were fuel injected only from 86+, but it just goes to show I dont know everything. 1985 5.0L HO, roller cam - 210 hp. God I love the Mustang Registry site!

It'll take a little modding to make it work, but it always does.
