yamaha R6/ R1

hey everyone, I would like a quickj reply to a couple of questions i havent researched. I know, my apolligiesesssss on being a Jack a$$ and not researching it.

I hear some people stating =

"An R1 is like an R6 chasis with a bigger motor"

is that ture? if so, doesnt that mean I could probably buy an R6, part it out, get an R1 setup and drop it into the R6 chassis with little fab? cheaper insurance if you lie and tell them its an all stock r6?

I can understand than modding a bike is like a car... with hondas, any engine will fit if you have the time and resources.

what do you all think?

and if its yes to most of those questions, does that mean maybe a newer 636 kwakaseeekeee would slip into an older z6 frame?

^Metaphorically speaking yes.

The R1 and R6 are completely different bikes. The frames are totally different. The R1 engine will fit in the R6 chassis but it won't be a straight swap.

That's silly.

yea very impractical, because when you crash the bike you lose all your money because you lied to the insurance company.

on the insurance issue. is there any policy out there that will cover the motor? I've been told by countless agents that its a wear and tear item which are not covered under full coverage. That should mean its great for the body, some interrior, chassis (anything thats not a wear and tear) and of course better rates on the drivers/passengers.

i know a couple of peole that had full options/coverage and after they wrecked, anything wear and tear realted wasnt covered. keep in mind this particular statement appiles to cars.

anyone out there with full coverage on a complete bike wreck = were you able to get your value worth or complete repairs from the insurance agent? I'm talking about a block thats been smashed.

I'd like to add, there also are certain states where you dont need insurace at all if you so desire. New Hampshire = live free or die. IN boston a couple of my coworkers lived in NH, had their cars/bikes registered in NH without insurance and they were ok. but if your in an accident, of course your screwed.

R1 frame can be put in an R6 but it dont work. The frame is not made to handle the motor and handling itself is affected dramatically. I talked to an guy that did it and he regrets ever trying it. R1 frame is much more beefed to handle the motor. If you want R1 power, buy an R1.
