headers are exhaust manifolds, designed out of individual tubing, rather than a single "log: that all the ports empty into. this allows freer breathing of the engine, and better scavanging of the engine, making more power. as far as making more power from your sixer, there are simple things, K&N filter, free flowing exhaust, aftermarket ignition, but these are marginal boosts, all those together maybe 50hp, max. probly 30hp is more realistic. for more than that, youll have to open up the engine, port polish the heads, backcut valves, dryfilm coat bearings, crank scraper, and that will be worth more power. aside from that, youd have to have custom cam made. all i really know of.

youre quite welcome, and yup, both V8s the black one is my RS, with a TBI 305, and the red one is my IROC with a TPI 350.
