My 92 3.0 runs real rich.I've replaced the EGR, Idle solenoid, plugs wires, ignition coil and module, fuel regulator, TP sensor. When the problem first started it would not idle so I empied the Cat. Could this be the cause? I scanned and got MAF sensor out of self test range. Could this also be it? I tried running it with the airbox/MAF sensor off and it will run real choppy but idle OK. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Had same type of problem with a 91, it ran rich and would surge at idle. A dealer had replaced the MAF + EGR and then said it was the EECU. After replacing the EECU and the CAT (which had gotten clogged due to running rich) along with EVR, temp sensor, O2 sensor, new plugs I was still getting high + low voltage at MAF. Replaced the MAF again and all appears well. Look at

Thanks for the suggestions I tested the MAF and it was ok. I was wondering if there is any way that I could test the EECU either at home or by taking it out and having someone else. It will idle fine but when on the street it hesitates then boggs out. Gonna put in a new coolant sensor, but I hear that no sensors other than the MAF should cause this bad of a condition.Could not having any guts in the CAT be a cause of it not running? Any advice appreciated
