I'm trying to replace the fan belt for the AC on my 98 Caravan 3.0
I losten the bolt on the adjuster and even took it out and then pushed on the belt but it was just as tight as it was before I started. Can anyone tell me what I should do? Also how does the air filter box come apart? I removed the two front bolts and thought it would seperate in half but it wouldn't come apart.

Sounds like they gave you the wrong belt if it is straight on all the pulleys.

I have no idea on the air filter box. I just posted a thread on that one too.

the a/c belt the adjuster pully have a 15 mm nut in the center of the pully that holds the pully on losen the nut and then turn the 13 mm adjuster bolt to losen or tight the belt.

the air box is a 2 part the 2 10 mm bolts the hold the upper air box to the upper radator support and 2 hose clamps that hold it to the throttle body and the other hold the upper box to the lower then there is 1 10mm bolt that hold the lower box in and the air filter is in the lower box

Thanks! I knew there had to be more to it then what I was doing.
I love this forum! It would have been nice if Chrysler could have put clips on the air box so it would be easy to remove a top cover and get to the filter alot easier!
