Haven't done it myself, but from what i've seen the general consensus seems to be to get the engine as close to the firewall as possible, otherwise the handling can be pretty ordinary.

I am about to pick up a 93 Vanden plas.. that has a bad engine...and I am thinking about putting a 400 chevy engine in it to... I heard that it's pretty common now for chevy engine to go in jags..with the conversion of the drive shaft. I really want to know how it turns out for you... and what kind of advice you get about conversion...If I get any more..I'll let you [email protected]

If you go carbed an easy swap, if you do like I did with my XJS it's a lot more involved. I did the full boat, 89 TPI vette motor with a complete harness, home made, so it was emissions complient. Even though I am a welder and fabercater I bought the engine mounts. Why re-invent the wheel when the complete mount kit was only around 300 bucks. I even hooked up the Jags trip computer to the chevy injectors signal. Rewired the tach also so it reads for an 8 instead of the 12.
