Well I've seen it explained before but I'm really not sure how to do it. Apparently I just need to run a wire to the ground so both fans are on all the time, hoping it won't be a problem with a 180 thermo (had a single electric fan running all the time on that crazy mustang and it ran fine in the winter too) so if anyone can help me out with how I go about doing this (which wire it is im not sure) I would really appreciate it..

sooo you want both fans to come on when your turn the ignition on and you want them to shut off when you turn your ignition off??

Boo to this. My car was setup like this when I bought it and I dont like it at all. Before my antenna is up all the way the bastard fans are roaring. I just had my friend spend a number of hours to fix this because mine was grounded out but they messed with the ecm the way the other people did it.

You could run them off a switch to turn them on and off as needed.. But you cant forget about it..lol

SLP sells a fan switch so you can turn your fans on and off when you want. For $69.95 and you don't have to hack your harness.
This is only for the 93-02 camaros...

well i had thought it was only one wire that would need to be grounded and they both can turn on and off like that yeah..i dont really care about any noise coming from them as long as the bearings are still good, and im not crazy about having a switch because my car isnt a robot toy :-p guess its just preference but if i could rig maybe the secondary or the primary or both to start up on ignition and off like that id do it.

both fans are run off one relay i'm pretty sure. there's a much easier way of doing this if you want to install a switch for them. on the driver's side firewall there's 2 relays that look the same. one is for the fuel pump i think, and the other for the fan(s). on both of them there is an orange wire coming out, you want the relay with the smaller orange wire. run this through a switch to ground. this way your already using the existing relay and all you have to buy is about 8 ft of wire and a flip switch

i had to do that on my 91 rs, went through
1 alternator a month, i wouldnt do it.
all you need is a new relay and a new
temperature switch. a mechanic screwed
my car up big time by doing that. i ended
up trading it off, cause the electrical system
was shot.

i replaced relay, fan motor, and temp switch, the relay kept blowing, that's why i had to hot wire it.

how long ago? mine lasted a year before
major problems started, it was so bad i
couldnt drive the car at night cause
i didnt have enough power to run the
lights id turn them on the volts would
drop and if i had the air or heat on
the car would die.

Not sure what year your car is but on mine one of the fans is for normal cooling and the second one usually only comes on when the a/c is running.
