I just had a chevy malibu past down to me and I'm planning on selling it..It's a bronze 2002 stock malibu with 3,400 miles and of course it includes a warranty..I couldn't find any private dealers who are selling malibu's on-line except for used car dealers, so I'm not sure how much I should ask for it (I live near san fran).Does anyone have any ideas of how much this type of car usually goes for through a private party?

I would check Kelly Blue Book and see how much you could sell it for. I don’t know if its a 4 or 6 cylinder or what kind of condition its in. I would guess you could sell it for a piece of garbage bad interior and exterior about $4500. If your car is in excellent condition you would probably get double this amount. My 99 Malibu 4 cylinder with 49,000 miles I bought for $6000 at a dealership.

haha, wtf are you serious $4500?Did you even read what I posted? kelly bluebook was around $9900 (but everyone sells above bluebook value)..so a 2002 v6 malibu with 3,400 miles is worth less then a 99 4 cylinder with 49,000?Maybe I should avoid these forums.

God calm down I figured you might have mistyped the miles 34,000. Think about it this way, its 2 years old, stock stereo, stock rims, stock intake/exhaust so what makes yours so special? You didn’t give us any details of how the interior and exterior is so we can’t tell you how much to sell it for. I gave you an estimate of $4,500 that would be at least what you could get for it, if it’s not a p.o.s. which none of us know because you didn’t give enough details.
