Front End Clunk

I've got a '96 F150 ext cab, long bed 4x4, 105k. Quite often I'll get a "clunk" when I step on the brakes. Clunk seems to be coming from the front end and I can feel it through the brake pedal. I'm also getting a lot of popping from the front end, as well as a dull knock from the front end while driving across bumps. Does this sound like ball joints? I had the tie rod ends replaced around 50k, so they should be good. There's nothing loose that I can see or feel. Any suggestions?

Yes, it does sound like ball joints. The clunk in the brake pedal might, or might not, be related to the other clunks you are hearing. I'd bet that it is however.

this sounds more like a traction bar bushing. check all of the front rubber and check balljoints too, just jack up the front end and try to move the tire as if you were going over a bump, is there any play?

I've pretty much convinced myself to go ahead and do the ball joints. And while I'm at it, I may do the radius arm bushings. Although I had the drivers side done only a couple of years ago.
