hey all,
i want to run some 4x114.3 accord rims on my 89 lx 4 door, but first i need to convert the suspension. passwordjdm.com has some suspension stuff from im guessing the 96 teg type r that supposedly fits efs, egs, das, dcs, etc.. will it properly fit on my car? has anyone else given this conversion any thought? thanks a lot!

are the accord rims really that nice? i've seen it done but i dont think it would be worth it to run some accord rims, might as well just buy some 4x100 rims for aroudn the same price as the 4x114.3 coversion.

i like the oem look...theyre 90-91 ex rims that i have from an accord that i wrecked. i think they would look sick with some 195-50s without the center caps. no one else would have them, at least not on a civic. i could probably make something work as far as the suspension goes, but im concerned with alignment probs.

that plus i wanna run accord v6 11.6" rotors up front and discs in the back.

they are not that good looking to change your whole suspension setup to make it work. BUUTTTT if you did decide to go through all of that at least Prelude rims would fit also. The Prelude SI wheels look almost like the 99-00 Civic Si rims.

yah exactly...either way im going to be running honda oem rims because im not a big fan of aftermarket rims. but all the 4x100 rims are played out (si, gsr, del sol), so i wanna go 4x114.3. i could use my accord rims, the prelude si rims, prelude vtec rims, 94-95 accord ex 7-spokes, and they would all look different than any 4x100 rim. plus i wanna get bigger brakes, and if im going to go through all the trouble to get ex front knuckles with 10.3 inchers, why not go for the type r setup? so how interchangeable are civic/integra suspensions?

You can definatly do it, but its going to cost money and probably a fair bit at that...But... if you were to do it and use the 95-97 accord rotors, you could use Acura Legend dual piston calipers, which are the best OEM brakes ever made by Honda, better than NSX.
You will at least need to get machine work done to use the hubs with Civic suspension... do a search on honda-tech. i know i have seen an EG with 4x114.3 accord hubs, wheels, etc.

i think legends are five lug.

the calipers still bolt on though...honda calipers all use similar mounting brackets.

I cant remember if Legends are 5 lug, but it doesnt matter, you can use 95-97 Accord V6 rotors they are 114.3 and the same thicker than 4 cyl Accords.
Yes you will need a different mounting bracket, they come in various sizes, 23mm, 25mm, 28mm,etc
