ummm... if it were bluish tint, then id be worried, cuz that means your car is burning oil. white smoke may be cuz it wasnt warmed up, but i see your from virginia, so i doubt that... never seen white smoke on a warm day

white smoke is normal at hi rmpz, its most likely carbon build up burning out but heavy white smoke at idle is bad thats antifreeeze burining so its a head gasket leak, next time u start your car go and smell the smoke if is smell like anitfreeze(sweetish smell) that u got a head gasket leak..

i think it might be the gasket leak. Fixing that, would it be a pain? and how much would it cost to take it to a mechinal place?

yup head gasket fix are a pain in the ass you have to remove the head of the car which involves taking off the intake/exhaust mainfolds.. studs might brake ect.. usually cost about $400-$700 depending on machinic i dont recomend doing this your self pay and get it done right b/c u can seriously mess up your motor

My bet would be the head gasket. A compression check is the best way to check this. Take it to your mechanic and ask for a compression check, it will be cheaper than the tool to check it yourself; Autozone may perform a check for free. Its not all that hard to change the gasket yourself. I changed the gasket on my MR2 myself and was very successful. The kit from Autozone is about $150 and you'll also need the service manual from either the parts store or your Nissan dealer, a good set of wrenches and sockets, and a torque wrench if you don't think you have the feel to gauge torque by hand.
While you have the head of you should change your timing chain and re-shim your valves too. If you're into modding, now is a good time to debur your manifolds, ports, and combustion surfaces of your head as well as port matching the manifolds to the head. You can have the head milled a bit to raise your compression ratio. You'll gain about 10 hp then if you have the cash JWT sells a sport cam set for a bit over $500 that could give you another 10-15 hp.

I would check the piston to wall gap and check out the bores for grooves.
