how do you remove the stock radio out of the '92? i looked in a manual i bought but it just said something about buying a tool to take it out. i figured somone would know how to do it without making an extra purchase. any help would be much appreciated

I guess one way would be to find some small and long enough nails to slide in the 4 holes then push out on them and pull. Of not goto wal-mart and pick up the two U shape thingys for about 5 bucks

Here is how you do it.

You upen up your change tray and your drink tray. Then pull the sucker out, it won't bust or anything, the whole tray will come off, enclosure and all.

Then just using your bare hand, reach around the sides and pull out the stereo from inside out.

That's how I did mine when I took out the factory stereo from my 92' Wagon to make room for my MP-40.

You can take four metal rods (about 5-6 inches long and slightly larger than a coat hanger), cut a small notch near one end of each, round the notched end, and bend a thumb-sized loop at the other end. Insert the four rods (with the notches "outward") into the radio, push outward, and pull out on the four thumb loops. You CAN do it without four thumbs! The small notches catch the radio bracket and help to remove the unit.

I broke up four of the plastic "department store dress hangers"...the hanger wire that remained was perfect.

I did it the way that the Chilton's book had illustrated.

Otherwise I would of use two slot brackets from a computer case =P
