I don't know who this little fuckweed is, but the guy who was ripping on Europe in that 50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs Ever thing did NOT have to rip on Kansas, Boston, America, and Asia in the same segment.
Guy is saying that Europe's song "The Final Countdown" sucks because it has a bad synth line (okay, agreed), it's about space travel (Space Oddity by David Bowie and Distant Early Warning by Rush force me to disagree), and then says "Plus any band named after a piece of geography is going to suck. Kansas, Boston, Asia, America. All suck."
Fuck him and his stupid clown shoes.
Kansas, a rock band fronted by an electric violin that's given us such memorable hits as "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind".
Boston, trendsetting power rock that's still filling concert halls and selling boatloads of records. Their debut album is amongst the top ten in all time sales, plus they've given us awe inspiring songs like "Don't Look Back", "More Than a Feeling", and "Foreplay".
Asia, founded by Yes alumni and one of the most progressive arena rock bands since Genesis.
America, brilliant singer-songwriter group whose acoustic balladry was matched only by Gordon Lightfoot and James Taylor. C'mon, "Horse With No Name" remains a great and meaningful song.
God, the idiots they let comment on classic music. It's one thing to trash today's throwaway garbage, but to then go on to poke fun at classic artists who pushed boundaries is unacceptable.

Yeah, the only trend between sucky music and sucky band names is the word mud, or anything that sounds like it.

most of those programs are just to get people to watch and have no credability anyway.
im convinced its a ploy to get kids who watch to believe that their generation of music is better than their parents.
but lets face it, boston has always sucked :D

How can Tom Scholz's amazing recording idea of using ampless electric guitars to get that incredibly powerful yet beautiful crisp clean sound suck?
Unless you're talking about the city of Boston, which does indeed suck.

I saw that special cuz I was bored out of my mind one night. That whole show sucked, and I like a lot of the songs they said were the worst! The Final Countdown rocks...
They seemed to judge a song based on lyrics alone, rather than if it actually sounds good or not. Yet another reason why VH1 sucks...

Don't watch VH1. You know something is wrong when the fucktards make constant references to Devo and Men at Work. Seriously, how much in love can you be with the 80's?

however, since these bands are timeless :) we can like them, and watch vh1 (not that anyone should be watching vh1 in the first place)

i play guitar, and i cant stand boston (kansas i do like)
boston, to me, is just one of those bands that everyone likes, so you arent allowed to dislike, cuz if you do, you obviously dont know music.
as for the lyric comment, lyrics are what make or break a song. look at bob dylan, horrible horrible singer, easy, simply guitar lines, but amazing lyrics...where is he now? one of the greatest songwriters ever.
now, how bout kid rock? quite arguably one of the best all around musicicans on the scene today (havent seen him live? dont comment) but his lyrics suck. period. what does that make him? suck. period.

kid rocks awesome u dun have to like him its all about taste. jimmy page is the best musician maybe not the best guitarist but since he did write all the lyrics, bassline, and most of the drumbeats u cant deny hes the best musician unless u know nothing about music
