hey.. does the GSX and GS-T models make that "Psssst" sound when u change gears??? I guess its the sound of the turbo or something... i'm not to familar with the Turbo models... and speaking of turbo... Last year some guy offer'd to sell me a 1996 mint condition GSX for only $3800.00 I mean the car was in pretty much excellent condition. It only had about 60,000 miles on it... But back then i didn't know the difference from a RS and a GSX... I was planning to by an Eclipse but not at that time so i passed on it ... He said he was getting a bunch of new Inventory and shit in so the car had to go soon. Thats why he was going to give it to me so cheap..... now that i know what a GSX is.. i get so pissed just thinking about my losed Oppurtunity.. (by the way, he never mentioned once that it was a turbo).. anywayz... can someone answer my question about the turbo sound.. .. thanks

i plan on buying a GSX sometime in July or August but there hard to find around here... the only way i'll probably find a cheap one is if it has over 150,000 miles on it. Knowing how my luck goes, i won't find a great deal.... i'll settle for a GS-T if i can find a Resonable price..... From what i read on this forum, a GSX is better though

hey your signature is really nice but you need to shrink it down a little bit! or find a smaller picture... thanks man

you need to disconnect the dump tube from the BOV to have the pssssssh sound. it does it when you let go the throttle while the turbo spools. so yes, when you change gears.

agreed, shrink the pic a little bit, it's making my browser scroll.

haha sorry man, Just got Photoshop on my computer and i'm not too sure how to work it that well... i shrunk it down some... if i were to disconnect the dump tube would that do any harm at all?

your engine will run rich. not the greatest thing to do in the world but again, so is redlining your car and hi colestro. :evillol:

i do it and so does many others and it has been running fine for me (knock on wood).

the safest way to do it is to replace your MAS with a MAFt or tunning a AFC.

well it will still make the sound when you let off the gas after you accelerate hard but it just wont do it when the auto tranny shifts gears!

Please do not encourage venting, even if you told him to get a MAFT, VPC, etc. The last thing we need is another "Bad gas mileage" or "Stalls out at stoplights" thread.

FWIW, I can make babies cry with my recirculated stock BOV. ;)

LMFAO!!!

Yes, I have heard quite a few very loud recirc'd bov's in my day, so you definitely can get a good sound without venting into the atmosphere.

I switched to a 2g MAS this weekend with a Dejontool intake pipe. I'm not sure if I had a kink in my BOV return tube that I previously overlooked, but now instead off a deep *chuff* sound, its a full on *PSSSSSSSSSSSCHEW* .

i wasn't encouraging hime. the guy asked the question. i just gave him all the effects and consequences. now with all the choices in the world, it's up to him to do it or not. :)

free will,... is a bitch isn't it :smokin:

Actually the automatics do have the sound, it is just a little harder to get them and you don't get them when it shifts. I have a 96 gst with auto tranny (it sucks but got an awesome deal) and if i am haulin ass and shift myself it will blow off

and how difficult is it to recirculate a stock bov and how would i go about doing that? and what are some negative effects of doing this to ur car?

my baby is an AT too. i've been venting it to the atmosphere for some time now. not that everyone should do it because i am NOT encouraging anyone to do it. just say that you CAN. most likely you will run into less problems venting to the air with A/T than with M/T.
