Power Door Locks

I have a 94 2.0 and I am not sure if my locks are power. I have the security system with the led on the drivers side door. When I unlock the doors are all of them supposed to unlock? When I try to unlock the other doors by hand, it feels pretty hard to pull them up. Are these power or not? Any way to find out??

It sounds like you have the power locks, which are vacuum operated. If the system is still in lock mode it will be difficult to pull up any lock button. I think on some year vehicles you had to turn the key to the unlock position twice to unlock all the other doors. Also, the lock switch at your handle could be bad, try unlocking from the passenger side to see if it works. When you lock the car do you hear the vacuum pump in the rear running?

I only hear the pump running when the alarm is activated (when the door is locked, not unlocked). I dont hear anything any other time.

Did you turn the key in the door to unlock twice to unlock the other doors?

Yep. Nothing else unlocked but the drivers side door.

There's an electrical switch that is supposed to trip the system to unlock the other doors. Do you hear any noises from the pump as if it were trying to unlock the doors? If so, it could be a broken vacuum line somewhere. Does the system work from the passenger side? If so, it could be a bad switch on the driver's side or possibly broken wires where they go from the door to the body, by the hinges. It's fairly common, pull back the rubber boot between the door & body to check those wires.
