My water pump is going bad and i am looking into buying a new one what do u guys think of a elect. water pump. It would add horse power right sense it doesnt rob power from the crank? Thank you for any info

Electirc water pumps are a waste unless you have a heavily modified car, trying to squeeze out an extra couple of hp. IMO. They are also very expensive!

I don't like them nor do would I believe outragous claims of a rear wheel 17 hp gain from an electric water pump. If you have an all out drag car than an electric water pump would probably be ok. But on a daily driver I think they are useless. Sure your motor won't have to turn it, but the strain its gonna put on your electrical system IMO far outways the benefit you'll gain from a few horses.

There are definelty some horses to be regained using an electric water pump. But they are expensive and thier reliablility on a daily driven car have yet to be proven.

thanks for the i nfo the guy at autozone told me just to buy a stock water pump. should i just buy one of those or do u guys have a water pump u recomend
