just a question what would all be required work wise to put a 5 spd in my 90 s13 i know about the drilling and the punching

but my question really is the wiring and the drive shaft what matched what doesnt?

and the clutch assembly, is it straight bolt on or what?

also does anyone know of any busted up 240 that dont need a tranny :) or any of the other goodys

youd have to put a clutch pedal in, make room for the the clutch assembly and stuff, new shifter, i think the new 5spd will just bolt right on. and i think the drive shaft is the same. just some minor fabrication is needed, nothin too major. I THINK, hey, im tryin to help, and im not bein a complete ass hole like bryants95240sx is. common, you gotta admit, you are being a little harsh on this n00b

i dun know zdude, bryants95240sx has a point. if my memory serves me, auto to manual conversions pop up quite frequently.

sorry b3n2k3, but i think an auto to manual conversioin just isn't worth it imo. it's gonna run you at least 1000 bux for parts and labor. even if you do it yourself, it's still a lotta money for the parts. probably sux to have an automatic, but i'd just deal with it for now.

yeah, but he said he searched for like 3 hours tryin to find answers to his exact questions...maybe they were never answered, maybe they were, i was just tryin to help the poor n00b out, u dont have to be a complete jerk to someone just cuz they dont know a question. thats like goin up to a mentally dissabled person, and asking him/her if he knows something, and he/she doesnt, do you say, "haha ya fuckin looser" or do you try to help the person?

btw, saikou240, im not talking about you being a complete jerk, im talking about bryants95240sx and his asshole reply. and bryant95240sx, im not saying you are an asshole, im saying that maybe you could try to help the poor guy and tell him your answer, or maybe say, try searching for it, instead of, "its a thing called the search button, and its there for a reason..." come on guys, if hes not a ricer, be nice to the poor guy. he has good intentions, and isnt the reason the forum is here is for people to ask questions??

good point i suppose

but noone has said anything really about the wiring i know how to work on a car i just wanted to know what im getting into for the swap
i realize its expensive but you dont really have to be a prick if i wanted to hear a prick answear i would called the parts store or local shop

i can do the swap its easy just hate wiring and thats all that i dont know is the wiring all the pages ive read are a little vague on the wiring issue and i know that i need an ecu i already have two and the clutch assembly

seriously

the ecu isnt really the prob my roomates got two for the 5spd one stock and one chipped (just speed limiter) but i wanted to know also about driveshaft length that

i just dont wanna get all into the project and have to wait three weeks cause i didnt know about one more inch on the drive shaft or i need somthing off the donor car that isnt covered in the faq or guides

cause its always somthing stupid that hampers progress
