ok so i got a another kill recently it was a 00' altima with a intake and exhaust he said it was a 6cyld but i wasnt to sure if it was or wasnt..

well i met up with him unexpectedly at a light, i was following him aggressivly why he switch lanes not knowing it was one of my friends who i loss contact with..

well were at the light and i realize it was him and i ask what mods you have b/c i seen the exhasut.. hes tells me so we chat for a couple sec(long light) so he revs and hes holding his revs (his car is auto btw) so im like what the hell i dont launch my car tho i just drop it into 1, so the light turns green, we both pull off his front bumper was by my door for a little bit mainly untill i caught boost..once i caught boost i left him by like 1 1/2 cars pulled second 3 cars pulled 3rd(drive) i was about 5 cars ahead of him doing like 80 so i slowed down and gave him the flashers..
he was nice about it and said good kill..

but when i came home i was very suprised and unhappy so see some nice white smoke comming from my hood... and me being stupid im not monotoring my temp and oil pressure gauge.. it turns out my car was over heating and i was low on oil and raditor fluid.. poor car no wonder why it felt sluggish.. i fix it up the same night and i was good to go..
i hope never to neglect my car like that again i feel like such a noobie :loser:

Altimas did NOT come with V6's until 2002.

Either you didn't hear your friend correctly, or your friend knows nothing about his own car.

Did the car look like this:

Or this:

I'd think that a V6 altima would beat your car. It might have been the older 4 banger. In any event good kill.

Wow nice kill but I would really doubt that it was a new V6 Altima. You would have to have some serious mods gone into your Probe to have beaten him. Dont the new Altimas have like 265hp??? :eek7:

02 altima's have 240 hp and can do 0-60 in 6.3 seconds.

03 altima's have 245 hp and can do 0-60 in 5.9 seconds

04 altima's have 250 hp and can do 0-60 in god knows what but it should be faster then the 03's.

so yes v6's altimas are quit fast. yes even faster then maximas. the main way to tell a v6 from a 4 cylinder is the dual tail pipes, and the 17 inch 6 spoke ( that are thin ) alloy wheels.

the base model have 15 inch 5 spoke hub caps. the SL model have 16 inch fat 6 spokes.

the newer 04 altima base models have a 6 spoke hub cap. the v6 models now have 17 inch 5 spoke alloy wheels, however the v6 still have the dual tail pipes.

it the first pic thats the shape altima i raced..
my car is a auto .. and i think i can take a 6cyld nissan it would be close but i think its possible, the reasoning behaind my madness is b/c i was messing with a 02 max one day we were just messing with each other but i was on his bumper all the time he couldnt pull away and i know he was going at it b/c i know how a maxima sounds when you really tip the gas.. i fell that my car has gotten faster.. i cant wait to boost it to 10psi for now that might me this weekend when i get my mbc. and i know when i get the chip and boost 15psi ill be a nice car to mess with..

Despite your mods a V6 Altima or Maxima should still take you out unless the guy can't drive.

Have you ever seen a V6 Altima give'er? Stupidly fast for a family car.

03 altima's have 245 hp and can do 0-60 in 5.9 seconds
04 altima's have 250 hp and can do 0-60 in god knows what but it should be faster then the 03's.

How about an '03 Maxima with the 3.5L and the 6 speed stick or the 2000 Maxima when they were still nice and light with the 3.0L?

Back to the topic at hand....Nice Kill!

the 03 max's did 0-60 in like 6.9 seconds or something like that. they are considerably off pace with the altimas. the 03 maxima's are high 14 second cars. when the 03 altimas runs a 14.4. the automatic versions however are mid 15 second cars. they were quick but not that close to the manuel version.

They tested the altima versus the maxima, and the altima won. It has better gearing. I've heard of the new Altimas running mid 14's at the track.

Wow, the Altima's must have a shitty take off, or either my car blows at top end. I put my car on the G-Tech Pro. thingy and i got a 5.76 0-60. And a 14.74 quarter. Damn, they hella fast top end!

I believe the car you raced has about 155 horsepower stock. With the mods he might have 170 flywheel horsepower optimistically. That's on a heavy platform too. That car would be lucky to pull off a low 15 sec. 1/4 mile. Have you gteched your probe yet, or better yet taken it to the track?

nope unfortunetualy not, i need to find some one with a g tech or sumthing im planing to take it to englishtown by the end of summer when i have the rest of my mods complete, that would be a chip in my ecu to reprogram my fuel curve and make it more ressponsive and a smoother powerband when i boost it to 15psi.. im guessitmating a low 15's or a high 14sec. like a 14.9 just from how the car feels and the cars that i was able to beat and hang with im leaning towards low 15sec to.. damm does that sound pathetic but hopefullly at the end of this summer my goal is to hit high 13's with the probe and 220whp and 290ft/lb it is possible

why do they add so much power to Altimas?

civicHBsi91

because of men in their mid life chrisis that need something fast or hip but still can haul around the family in...

and because every other car maker is making their car's more powerful.
