I have a 1989 Chavy Cavalier, my automotive pride and joy. It's got alot of cool things on it, including New suspension, brakes, paintjob (racing, Black w/red stripe) it has neons under the car, seats, and windows (green) racing seats, 2, 200 watt Subwoofers in the back, and wiring for four more in the trunk.

now you can tell i like to upgrade, and soon (im still debating) i may get a body kit.

but i have ONE BIG problem. I want it to go fast, and dont get me wrong, it is, but it's not a Z24. and i was wondering if anyone out there can help me on where i can find better parts for an 89' Chevy cavalier. like a new air intake, or better exhaust... you know anything to add alittle more HP.

thanks all.

If it's a 2.2L a new intake is impossible to find, you'd have to fabricate one. A new exhaust is your best bet. A flowmaster muffler, wider pipes, highflow cat...

I have a 91 Cav and Bosch Platinum +2 plugs gave me a bit more power, premium plug wires helped too.

It is possible, but for the work of going to a 2.8/3.1 you could upgrade to a 3400 out of a late model Alero or Grand Am. and you would basically bolt it in if you get all the computers and transmission as it is dimensinally the same size as the 3.1

Ya, do an engine transplant, that would give you more power without any upgrades. Then if you wanted, throw a blower on it
