Jacking points

My sister has a '97 GS Eclipse and I was wondering where the four points are to hold the car after it is jacked up? I was changing her oil and her car was so low that I had to jack it up and I held it up at this long rectangle frame like thing that stretched across 2/3 of the car. The front part had no problems holding the weight but the back for some reason "bent" due to the weight (same frame structure as the front though). Do you guys think anything is damaged? I don't think there are any wirings inside that frame structure but I don't know. However, for future reference, I want to know the right jacking points and holding points. Thanks guys.

A bent frame is never ok. So if it bent... Yes theres damage... Second if there are wires in the frame, they would most likley be fine if the frame bent, it shouldnt affect them. Get that checked out though cause a bent frame is bad news and cost a hell of alot of money to fix...

Was it the subframe?

I really don't know if it's the "main" frame or the subframe or what. But if you look under your car, about approximately 19 inches from the side of the car, there is this rectangular "thing" down there. There are little holes on it and when I stick my finger in there, I don't feel any wires so I think there's no damage to wiring. But I'm concerned about the overall condition of the car and whether or not that could be fixed!?!

Oh yeah, I really don't think it's the actual frame of the car though....I highly doubt it....

Yea I know what you are talking about.. It will be fine. Mine was bent when I bought the car.

Next time make sure whatever you are jacking is metal and then jack it up

Hey bro, thanks for the clarification. I was getting kinda scared about the whole deal. :) Still not too sure where the actual jacking points are though....
