Around here if you damage the highway installations in a crash you may get a bill. I heard of someone who hit 3 bridges with a big excavator being towed on a trailer down the highway. The digger arm was not all the way down. The bill was over $40,000 for the bridge repairs alone.
A friend of mine went into the ditch on a rural highway in his Neon - drunk. Wrote the car off and squashed a tree. He got a bill for $600 for the tree.
If you have insurance, they will pay for the pole. 3000 - 4000 sounds about right - they really stick it to you if they think insurance will pay.
However, if the insurance company has firm proof you were drunk/stoned, (such as the police convicting you of DUI) they might not cover the claim.

thanx vettemaan, but yeah back on topic, if you hit head on, hard enough to bend the steering wheel with your forhead, my rough estamate would be the bumper, bumper cover, hood, radiator, radiator support, possibly the front anti-sway bar, the headlight bar, plus all the platic pannels that are in the front end to route the air to the intake and radiator, your fan may be damaged, your power steering lines are routed across the radiator support and thus may be damaged, but its pretty hard to say exactly without seeing it or being told the extent of the damage. kinda like, i rolled my car off a cliff, yall know what i need to fix it??? lol. but thats my guess for what youll need from a head on with the pole.

i strongly suggest, if money is an issue, to contact www.fbodymotorsports.com with a list of all the parts you are going to need, once you put it together, the staff is awesome, and prices cant be beat. i got 1400 bucks worth of parts from them when i went down there. off the top of my head, im comferateable saying at anyother place, would have been 2400 bucks worth of parts. most used, some new, all worked just fine.
