engine replacement question

Ive got an 86 Mitzubishi pickup that I heard can fit a gen. 2 eclipse turbo engine. That would be awesome except for the fact that my pickup uses a carburator and the eclipse one (im guessing) will use fuel injection. I asked my buddy (whos really good with cars) and he said that he wouldn't have a clue how to do it because theres a lot of hard electrical stuff involved with adding fuel injection instead of a carburator. My question is would it be a better idea to A. put in the new eclipse and worry about all that stuff, or B. try to fix up the engine I have now. also any input as to how easy/hard it would be to do this would be appreciated

As long as the Eclipse motor does actually fit, it should be possible to install the Eclipse ECU along with it. As a matter of fact, this would be one of the only ways to go, since without the Eclipses ECU the Eclipse motor won't run. Find out for sure if the motor will fit first, there is no sense in figuring out the specifics if the premise if flawed.

im pretty sure the motor does fit but what I'm asking is how difficult it would be to install the electrical system...the guy i asked said it would be a lot of wiring that would be really confusing and tough to do, i was just looking to extra input on that idea

Assuming that the motor was a direct bolt in, it would still be a fairly large job. It is completely possible, but I wouldn't attempt it unless you have at least done an engine swap before. This would be a lot of work, and if the motor doesn't bolt directly in, it will be a lot more.
