Hey, i have a 1995 honda civic DX... I'm wondering how hard it is to swap a ZC head onto my DX block... How much would this head run me, what power cna i expect, torque, is it alright to run nos on it...i really don't know much about this head, my buddy is having one put on his 91 crx si, so i figure it can't be much harder ot have it put onto my d series block either... all your guys' help is appreciated...

cheers
- mike

Oddly enough I like it... I dont like the black door trim and what not... but its still ok. To each his own... Also, about the ZC head, I really dont know, I guess you MIGHT be able to do it, but why would you? The ZC is an OLD motor and you have a 92+ ~ I would imagine that might cause some differances...

Why not just save up for a B16a swap? Because if the ZC head isnt a direct bolt up affair and have to have it milled and things welded and what not... its going to probably run you a whole heck of alot more then its even worth. The ZC motor is only 130hp anyways... Why dont you just swap in an SI motor? You can pick them up for like $500 at junkyards, and would probably be a whole hell of alot easier :)

yeah, i'm having the side molding painted when the snow melts here up in B.C.

i didn't realize that the ZC was so much older...i don't know what i'm going to do... how much would i realistically be looking for for the b16a swap incl. tranny?

thanks

$2340 for the swap... I should know I sell em ;)

Then again, depending on what youre gonna do, install yourself, have someone else do it, blah blah blah. I say if you just want a little more *umph* you find an SI motor and drop her in...

is doing up an si motor really worth it? i figure if i'm goingt o do a swap, i might as well do it right and go for the DOHC. I'm going to run a 55 shot of zex on my dx engine for now, until i can find a new one haha... i dont' know... what are your thoughts on doing up a sohc...
thanks

You cant put a DOHC Head on a SOHC block. IF you were wanting to do anything then just go buy the ZC motor for $495. ;)
