finally got my motor in..

finally got my motor in yesterday.... went in pretty easy...now i need to get it back together and clean her up... shes pretty dirty

yeah...there has been an IROC-Z sittin in the parking lot at work for 2 and a half months....im debating stealing it..i think were having it towed next week. poor car all abandoned :(

we did work on it...i dont remember what cause i didnt do it and the guy couldnt pay for it and he never picked it up. so now hes gonna have to pay for towing and pay daily to have it stored until he can pay our bill.

Sorry to hear about your mom also, good luck with your new block. I was watching "Horsepower TV" yesterday, and they custom built a 472 from a 350 block, very interesting, how radical did you go?

those are a set of dart heads, thanks gurrzt, yea this is my mild 350, the 383 is in the works, this block is bored .60 over, flat top pistons with 4 valve reliefs, and like a 480 lift cam, only costed me like 500 bucks to build, o and i picked up that intake the day b4 for 50 bucks

well i was tryin to push it into the garage and im not a big guy i only weight roughly 145 lb, and my shitty gravel driveway dips down b4 it goes into the garage, so i was tryin to push it in there, but it wasnt goin, it kept rollin back into the dip, so i got frustrated(i get mad really fast) and i kicked it in(it was cracked anyways) and i also kicked my vw fender that was sitting right there also:banghead:

quick question.... does oil flow through the converter?? cause during shipping and all that the oil came out, and i forgot to fill it b4 puttin it togther.......

well, not oil, should be red, as in trans fluid, and no, you dont have to fill it first, i think you SHOULD, but i didn fill mine before (i forgot too) and just filled the tranny, and i havent had any problems.

oh and nice work gettin the motor in there, sure is a pretty little gem if i do say so myself, kinda motovates me to get mine put together, oh wait, i need money for that lol.

this one is the 2 bolt.... the 4 bolt is in the making

not too bad for a $500 budget. the last engine i built, i had a little $900 in her. except mine's fuel injected. of course i also saved a bunch by rebuilding the heads and doin the machine work myself. but mines a 4 bolt :iceslolan

yea, my block costed bout 200 to get machined, 80 for the piston and ring kit, 100 for the crank and bearings, 50 for the intake and 35 for the gasket set, i already had every thing else:biggrin:, my 383 is gonna be 4 bolt :iceslolan

and yea we found that 4 bolt on the side of the road!! complete from oil pan to intake, we tryed to pick it up into the back of his s10 lol.. that didnt work, had to use a tractor

you have to grind the crank down to the 350s main journal size

that's what i was thinkin. seems like the 400 crank has 2.65 mains? and the 350 has 2.45 or somethin like that

couple of quick questions.
your intake manifold is a high rpm intake why didn't you use full roller rockers if your going for higher rpms?
